The WackO Products CA200 is an air conditioner silencer kit that allows you to run your A/C unit without all the noise. Never try listening to your TV over your air conditioner or being kept awake by the unbearable noise ever again.
• Designed to fit a Coleman air conditioner with a ducted system. (If you use a Dometic A/C model, see part #DA100)
• Installs easily in under 15 minutes with a screwdriver, no drilling required.
• Recycled cotton duct liner gives superior acoustic and thermal performance.

    This is our second Coleman-Mach RV A/C Silencer CA200 for our 36-foot Class A Winnie motorhome. The first went into the bedroom, and this into the living room/kitchen. No, it doesn’t silence the A/C noise, but it reduces it enough so we can watch TV without maximum volume, and don’t have to shout to be heard when more than 5 feet apart. Finally, this handy guy urges you to read the instructions because, while it’s pretty simple install, there are a couple of steps which aren’t intuitive.

    I have to admit, I was very skeptical about this product when I first heard of it. Now, I am EXTREMELY happy with this, it makes a HUGE difference in reducing the noise from the A/C. While the decibels were only reduced by one or two points, to the “ear” it makes a world of difference.

Very happy I ordered the trim ring for this update also, as it covers the screw holes and imperfections in the RV ceiling completely and makes for a very attractive appearance.     This thing works fantastic! It’s really hard to believe how much quieter the AC is now. Watching TV and having conversations are going to be so much easier and normal now. Everyone needs to remember that it does not eliminate all noise, nor does it advertise it will. BUT, it significantly reduces the noise. To me well worth the cost!

    We installed two units in our RV and it was easy. We had watched a video on youtube where the installer had used extra hvac tape to completely seal off any gaps or holes where the pressured air might leak between the intake and disperse chambers and I thought that was smart so we did that also. When we turned on the units after installation, we were blown away by how quieter they were. Also we noticed better airflow from our ducts. Very happy with this product!

    Really cuts down on the nose and it looks good too! The only reason it’s not a 5 for me is that It was a little small for the footprint of the cover we replaced as far as aesthetics go. This my not be the case for you; we have a 2006 Fleetwood Bounder. We had our installer put up small vinyl border around the unit that matched our ceiling and it looks great. We love that we don’t have to turn the tv up so loud when the ac kicks on and the ac doesn’t wake me up now in the middle of the night! Wish we had done it sooner.

      Hello John, Thank you for the review. We do have 2 optional trim pieces available to cover any holes or marks in the ceiling that the Silencer kit doesn’t cover up with the 17×17″ foot print. The CT205 trim is 19×20″ and CT204 is 20×20″ foot print. The trims are optional as not everyone needs them.

    After watching videos and reading the reviews, I decided to order. We have a Coleman Mach. AC unit. I ordered based on the pictures that matched our original grill on the website. The order arrived fast. It was the correct grill…but was too small to cover the holes from the original. I went back to the website to actually start the return process and instead searched the website and found the adaptor trim ring and ordered it. Glad I did. Just wished they had mentioned that this might be required with the order. No instructions on how to mount the trim ring but had it figured out with no problem.
    This only took about 15 minutes to install by myself. An extra hand to hold it up would make it much easier.
    Turned the AC on. Wow…what a difference in the sound. So quiet. It is much more than I would have thought. It really has changed everything in the camper. Coachman Catalina Deluxe 25 RKS. This was totally worth it. My wife is very impressed with the change in the sound. This Really Works. Thank You, Wacko!!

    Very easy to install! All the parts were in the box, all the pre-existing holes matched the A/C Silencer perfectly and it really does reduce the amount of noise from the A/C. It’s about a 2 decibel reduction, which doesn’t sound like much, but really is. We have 2 A/Cs and the one without the silencer is much louder. It’s worth the money and we’re definitely getting a second one!

    Installation was quick and easy, only problem is that the white shroud is thicker than the original and my decorative medallion on the slide wood trim hits and pushes up against the ceiling (☹️). Got to trim 1/4-1/2” off cover and mill out the mounting holes on cover unless a thinner cover is made.

      Please do not trim the cover. The cover space is needed for air flow. You could pickup some thumb screws #8-32 x 1/2″ long and use to hold the cover on. This way it is you can remove the cover before bring in the slide.

    The Coleman-Mach RV A/C Silencer and the trim worked perfectly in our single A/C 5th wheel. The A/C in the main living area was unbearable with noise and the air flow was lacking through the ducted A/C vents. After the simple installation, we can now have a conversation, watch TV, and enjoy the 5th wheel all while the A/C is running. If we add a 2nd A/C unit to the bedroom area, we will definitely purchase another Silencer.

    Works as advertised with an 8db reduction in the noise level. However, after receiving and looking at the product, it does seem somewhat overpriced. Most RV folks would be put off by the cost. I also have not used the AC units on a hot day yet to see if airflow is, as a minimum, the same as previous.

    Reduced sound form the air conditioner by 12 db and with more the cooled air going thru the ceiling ducts, not recirculating hot & cold air in the plenum, the trailer temperature is more even and might even cool down a bit faster.

    After reading all the positive reviews I decided to order a kit for the Coleman a/c unit in our 2019 KZ 301BHSE travel trailer. Ordered on a Sunday evening. Received the kit Wednesday afternoon! Instructions are straightforward and easy to follow. The new kit fit perfect aligning the holes in the kit to the holes in the metal frame mounted in the ceiling. And it did literally take only about 15 to 20 minutes to install. The filter is better than the ones that come with the a/c from the factory. The new kit also seals to the roof unit better eliminating air leaks around the ceiling assembly that were present with the factory unit. We hardly ever used the air dump feature for the living room on the factory one so won’t miss it. I have to say the main unit is more quiet but also the amount of air coming out of the vents in the front bedroom and rear bunkhouse is noticeably increased. Also compared to the factory assembly this unit has a larger vent opening for air going in to the a/c to be cooled. That might account for the increased airflow to the ducted vents. I agree the kit is pricey but I can see our a/c being more efficient come this summer.

    The RV A/C Silencer does what it’s name implies. Our 35 ft. KZ toy hauler has one big ducted air conditioner in the main salon and was noisy. The kit was complete, installation easily accomplished with a Phillips screwdriver and results in a quieter AC operations. Now we do not have to turn up the TV to hear over the AC roar. Highly recommend it.

    Gents, Apologies for a long delayed review of your WACKO grill. Full disclosure! This is a 2013/14 View Profile 24G with a Coleman Mach 8 ducted unit installed near the rear bedroom. The early Mach 8s’ were as loud as an F-4 Phantom in re-heat on take off. So loud inside and out. Yes you could hear it running from 300′ away. Inside it was like a saw mill. Annoyingly loud in the rear of the coach. As a result, i made several ‘McGuyvers’ to reduce the exterior and interior noise levels: vibration damping the bonnet using foil faced butyl roofing tape; replacing the 6 blade turbine fan with an improved three blade ‘elf ear’ version; building a ‘turning vane’ to smooth the air flow in side the intake; adding a Perfect Casita Mach 8 “hush” kit that reduces the condenser fan’s speed about 2/3 to 1/2 and the low restriction grill on the bonnet. So it’s not a stock out of the box unit.

    I bought a CA-200 back in June or July 2019. I was overtaken by events and weather and I didn’t install it until September 2019 when I could do some sound measurements on a calm day. It was probably over done with 30 measurements and 90 data points. The results appeared to show that the grill does reduce sound levels inside the RV. They are reduced more as you approach the intake grill. That probably means that the sounds are not transmitted to other parts of the RV. That’s good! Subjectively, sitting in the driveway it was quieter. The first impression is that the roaring and mechanical noise of the unit is reduced. I wasn’t able to test it on the ‘road’ until about November 2019. The same positive results. The best comment I can make is that even with my McGuyver mods (as quiet as it was) there was a constant background roaring sound toward the rear of the coach. Sometimes I didn’t want to turn the unit on as it was annoying. After installing the WACKO and ‘putting some miles on it’ I don’t give it a second thought. Just turn on the AC or heat and enjoy yourself. About the only sounds now are from the ducted vents. Going front to back of the coach you hardly notice that the unit is actually running except for the low noise from the vents.

    The kit is of very high quality. The fit and finish is perfect. Instructions are clear and easy to follow. There was a very minor screw alignment problem on my unit with the ‘baffle’ installation. I suspect that there was a change in Coleman’s design or WBGO did a hamfisted install and got the unit’s base slightly sprung out of alignment. Quick work with a drill and no problems.

    As most of the other reviews stated, I bought one to test it and immediately placed my order for two more to complete my toy hauler. I can’t speak for increased airflow thru the ductwork but it makes complete sense, but I can easily attest to the significantly reduced noise level. Also the kit design is perfect, everything is included that you need and no surprises to install, all you need is a phillips screwdriver and a few minutes to make a significant improvement. Quality is top notch.

    this product makes a TREMENDOUS difference. i have coleman air conditioners and installed one. your site says there is a 3 – 5 decibel reduction, but i am quite sure it is more than that. i ordered a second one after verifying it would make a difference. i am very happy. my only wish is that when i added my third ac unit i would have taken the time to tie it into the ductwork so i could install a third (instead i took the easy way out and made it ductless).

How can you determine if you need the trim piece prior to ordering the silencer? Larry Pierotti asked on July 8, 2022

The trim will cover any holes or blemishes in ceiling that are not cover up by the 17"x17" Silencer kit. We do offer two sizes of trims, 19x20" and 20x20" so you can pick what size works best for you.
